Training on New Technologies in Agriculture and Cashew Processing for ATMA, Ratnagiri

A five day training on New Technologies in Agriculture and Cashew Processing was organized to the farmers from Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra, in collaboration with ATMA_Ratnagiri, during 5th -9th March,2018.The programme was inaugurated by Dr. E. B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, and in his address explained the importance of modern technologies in increasing the productivity, value addition and marketing strategies. Dr.A.R.Desai, Principal Scientist Dr. Arunachalam, Principal Scientist, Dr.Thangam, Principal Scientist, Mr. H. R. C. Prabhu, Programme Coordinator, Dr.Sanjaykumar Udharwar, Subject Matter Specialist(Animal Science) and Mr.Shashi Viswakarma,Technical Officer,were the resource persons during lectures and field visits. The participants were taken to cashew processing units of Mr.Vinod Bharve, Satode, Sattari and Mr. Makarand Marate. These processors shared their experiences among the trainees. They also visited Laxminarayan Cashew Industries, Savoiverem and Ajanta Cashew industries,Priol, interacted with Mr.Vijaykumar Savoikar regarding drum roasting and with Mr. A. S. Kamath on automatic cashew processing and export. The training was attended by 35 farmers.
