This species is characterised with the presence of dark rings arranged in 5 longitudinal rows on the eyed side and a dark blotch on the meeting point of straight and curved part of the lateral line. Numerous small dark spots and elongate markings on median fins and pectoral fins are with 10-12 rays on eyed side and 10-11 rays on blind side
