Description :

Body oblong and compressed, its depth contained 2.5 times in standard length. Head blunt and upper profile convex; mouth small, lips moderately thick; upper jaw reaching to level of anterior eye margin. The body silvery white with pectoral, pelvic and anal fins bright yellow in colour. The caudal and posterior part of the dorsal fin black in colour.

Diet

Feeds on small crustaceans and fishes.

Marketed as fresh and frozen.
