Description :

benthopelagic freshwater species occurs in small mountain stream cascades and riffles. The species is with occipital process about 2 times as broad as long, distinctly separated from basal bone of dorsal fin; lips papillated; two pairs of barbels, maxillary barbels extend posteriorly to anterior-third of pectoral fins; adhesive thoracic apparatus well developed, longer than broad, devoid of a central pit; dorsal spine weak and smooth; skin minutely granulated on head and body; a light streak along lateral line; dorsal, anal and caudal fins with black bands.

Diet

Feeds on small worms, crustaceans, insect larvae and fishes

This species is caught and sold for food in local markets
