Description :

It has nasal organ elevated, short, rounded tube with a terminal opening, scarcely two-lipped; 7–8 rays in dorsal fin; 8 rays in anal fin; 16–17 rays in pectoral fin; lower margin of eye slightly below mouth corner; 2 black, oval patched on sides before dorsal fin; a dark, broad band from below dorsal to caudal fin on sides; a narrow, light intraocular band, two irregular dark patches and a V-shaped mark behind eyes followed by an irregular band and triangular patches on back.

Diet

Feeds on zooplankton and various benthic crustaceans and molluscs
