Description :

It is freshwater, benthopelagic and found in slow-flowing sand-mud substrate parts of rivers, in water up to a depth of about 2 m. It is characterised by a large dark blotch on the posterior caudal region. It is also with black spots on the tip of upper and caudal fin lobes.

Maximum length: 9.0 cm (SL), common length: 5-7 cm (SL)

Diet

Feeds on worms, insects and other small invertebrates, as well as plant material and organic detritus.

Utilization

It is popular as an aquarium fish
