Description :

Deep bodied, dorsal profile of head straight to above eye and then abrutply convex; A large hump is seed in forehead of adults; Anterior tip of head is acute; Teeth- two robust canines anteriorly in upper and lower jaws; Dorsal fin continuous: spines-9-10, soft rays- 10-12; Anal fin: spines-3, soft rays- 8-10 Caudal fin rounded in shape and lateral line (22-23 scales) interrupted below posterior portion of base of dorsal fin; Scales are present on cheek and opercle and no scales on lower jaw; Body is olive to green with vertical dark bar on each sacle above and behind pectoral fin; Two conspicuous black stripes extends posterioraly from eye

Feeds on fishes, molluscs, crustaceans and other invertebrates
